Following the recent passage of Bill 38, An Act to Amend the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Nunavut will be given new powers investigate privacy breaches when the bill is proclaimed into force this spring. Nova Scotia’s Review Officer appointed under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act was also recently given such powers.
